Alessandra has practiced architecture in the UK, Europe and the Middle East for more than thirty years. She is one of the practice’s key leaders and has designed a variety of high-profile office, mixed-use and residential projects with a focus on the Middle East, London and Milan. In addition, Alessandra drives the strategic design management for many of PLP’s other projects throughout the world. She is currently overseeing large mixed use developments in the Middle East and in Italy.
Previously, Alessandra managed our designs for the signature buildings of the new Hamad Port in Qatar, including the Mwani Headquarters, the Port Management Company and the iconic Control Tower. She led a major mixed-use master plan north of Doha that is based on aviation, aerospace education, air travel and aerospace-themed entertainment. She also led the design of a large mixed-use project in Muscat. Project Avenue will create a vibrant new destination quarter for the city with a varied programme that includes residential, a hotel and an office building together with a significant retail component.
In London she was also responsible for the Qatar Airways UK Headquarters, a building that reinterprets the architecture of the surrounding neighbourhood and marries it with vernacular Qatari elements to create an emblematic building that bridges locations and cultures.
Alessandra recently led our competition-winning design for Yandex’s new global headquarters in Moscow, which will house 12,000 employees in an iconic, light filled building. She is also responsible for Corso Como Place in Milan, now completed, which witnessed an outdated tower completely transformed through adaptive reuse into a new retail plaza and signature office building for a key business district in the city.
Alessandra is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Architects Board of Milan, Italy. She was educated at the Polytechnic of Milan, the University of California at Berkeley and the Inchbald School of Design, London. She speaks Italian, English and French.
