The Nexus, Pearl River Delta, China

PLP has unveiled a masterplan and architectural design for a large complex at the heart of a metropolitan centre in the Pearl River Delta. Located at a very prominent junction within the central business district, the project comprises four buildings: the Nexus Building – a 600m office and hotel tower; the Platform for Contemporary Arts – a performing arts complex; the  LZ Park Tower – a 300m office tower; and the Concourse – a large scale retail and leisure facility.

Old Oak Park, London, UK

Sitting on 17.4 hectares in West London, this master plan is a significant catalyst for regeneration and one of the most strategically-important sites for the future of the capital. This vast swathe of industrial land will be transformed into a thriving new district, creating much-needed new homes and jobs, a new school, high quality parks and open spaces benefiting from incredible new transport connections along with access to the historic Grand Union Canal.

The Collective Old Oak, London, UK

The shortage of housing is an acute and pervasive problem in the contemporary city and young people are perhaps the most affected. Faced with housing that is either exorbitantly expensive or hopelessly inadequate, they are increasingly pushed out of urban centres, isolated and marginalised.

Mayfair Park Residences, London, UK

Situated just a few steps from Hyde Park, the scheme provided us with opportunity to design an exciting contemporary addition to Mayfair’s unique architectural character. Located along a prominent route leading from the heart of Mayfair Conservation Area towards the Royal Parks, the existing buildings form part of an urban block with a dual aspect to both Curzon Street to the south and Stanhope Gate to the north.

425 Oxford Street, London, UK

This project includes the high-profile renovation and adaptation of a key historic building along Oxford Street in Central London. The design completely rethinks the 1930s building’s presence within Europe’s busiest shopping district, greatly expanding its retail space to make it more economically viable and ensuring consistency within its commercially-orientated setting. The T-shaped building sits confidently across from the iconic Selfridges & Co department store, providing an unparalleled visual retail presence that an international brand has capitalised on for their new global flagship store.

60 Curzon, London, UK

Located in the historic Mayfair Conservation Area, 60 Curzon is one of London’s finest new residential buildings. The building’s façade, with its verticality and elegant curves, is detailed with intricate stonework, bespoke terracotta tiling and bronze accents. Behind this crafted exterior lies a complex and finely tuned machine for living, that embraces the history and culture of its surroundings.

Kaleidoscope TikTok UK Headquarters, London, UK

This dynamic new office building in the City of London has recently been completed on a high-profile site next to Smithfield Market. The colourful structure will become Tiktok’s new UK Headquarters and includes 5,500sqm of modern and efficient office space with a WiredScore Platinum rating and outstanding views out over the surrounding historic neighbourhood.

Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Al Maryah Island, is a man-made enclave between Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi Island and Mina Zayed. Its central position enables the island to become a link between the city and the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island. Central to this urban ligament stands the Four Seasons which, together with the adjacent Abu Dhabi stock exchange, establishes a pedestrian epicenter of metropolitan energy along the waterfront.

Chiltern Place, London, UK

PLP Architecture recently completed a new 15-storey residential building that includes 55 luxury apartments, retail facilities and a new townhouse along Chiltern Street in the heart of Marylebone Village in London. It replaces an outdated 1960s tower and offers significant visual and operational improvements for the sensitive site, which is located next to the intimate green spaces of Paddington Street Gardens.

Corso Como Place, Porta Nuova, Milan, Italy

PLP Architecture was commissioned to refurbish the former Unilever Tower in Milan as a contemporary office space. The tower, built in 1962, had been a modernist landmark in the international style, although a recent misplaced attempt at recladding the facade had completely changed its character, rendering it unremarkable and undervalued. The existing block and surrounding buildings had become run-down, in stark contrast to the surrounding buildings of Corso Como.  When complete, the building will serve as Accenture’s national headquarters. A new all-timber pavilion adjacent to the tower will house the headquarters for the technology company Bending Spoon.
