Doguscan Aladag is a Senior Associate Partner at PLP Architecture with a specialisation in computational geometry and design research. He focuses on the conceptual and schematic stages of the projects and has experience in the design of mixed use, office, retail and residential projects across UK, China, USA and Middle East.

At PLP, Doguscan has been involved in several projects mainly focusing on tall and super tall buildings in China and UK and he is currently working on a 225,000 sqft mixed use development in Philadelphia, USA and a 154,000 sqm technology campus development in Guangzhou, China.

Doguscan is also a key member of PLP Computational Design group where has been involved in IUMO (formerly known as SkyPod / CarTube) research projects especially in the development of 3D geometry and digital simulations.  His further expertise includes modelling complex 3D geometry and development custom computational tools that improve efficiency and help to incorporate environmental/urban data in the design processes. He is interested in a design approach that occurs in the intersection of research driven, analytical approach and subjective creativity.

In addition to serving as a jury member in several architectural competitions including UIA’s International Young Architects and Awards idea competition “Unknown” for space habitation, He has been involved in academia as a critique and tutor at University of Westminster and Smart Geometry.

Before joining PLP he won several competitions including the co-award for the design of the largest congress and convention centre in Antalya, Turkey’s largest Mediterranean region. He was one of the six finalists for Turkish Young Architect of the year awards in 2014.

Doguscan received his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from METU(ODTU) in Ankara and his Master’s degree in Architecture from Architectural Association in London, having been awarded the AA Graduate Bursary.

He is a member of the Chamber of Architects in Turkey (TMMOB Mimarlar Odasi).
