Milan Varesine
Milan, Italy

The regeneration of the Varesine area, an important district in northern Milan, is a unique opportunity for the city. For the first time in Milan’s history, the area is the object of an intervention intended to reconnect it to the city’s urban fabric and reinforce its character as an area of access and interchange.

The new masterplans creates a public green space that connects to the existing and proposed private developments and public spaces adjacent to the site and links to a larger network of green public spaces. The proposal creates a dynamic multi use district, a new destination in the city. The development provides a mix of uses: office, residential, retail and public activities. The massing responds to the surrounding fabric with a mix of heights from high to low, creating two landmark towers that become markers at the edges of the site.

A project of Kohn Pedersen Fox (International) PA
in which the following people at PLP Architecture were involved: Lee Polisano was partner-in-charge; Alex Luzzatto, architect; Andrei Martin, senior designer; Richard Woolsgrove, head visualizer.
