Marta González Ruiz Explores Culture and Community at Cityscape Global 2024

Marta González Ruiz, Director at PLP Architecture, took to the stage at Cityscape Global in Riyadh, joining the “Creative Gene – Cultural Venues as Community Hubs” panel. For the second year running, Marta shared her expertise on urban design, this time focusing on how culture and the public realm can transform spaces into vibrant, community-focused destinations.

Reflecting on the event, Marta described it as a privilege to participate in an incredible forum showcasing inspiring people, visionary projects, and meaningful discussions about the future of cities.

The panel examined the role of creative placemaking in shaping cities that are both culturally rich and socially connected. Marta was joined by Fabienne Nicholas, Curator at FutureCity; Sumaya Dabbagh, Founder of Dabbagh Architects; Abdulrahman BinMuqrin, Director of Infrastructure for Misk City; and Architect Richard Murphy OBE.
