NTT Hibiya Tower
Tokyo, Japan

Within the Tokyo Cross Park masterplan, the NTT Hibiya Tower – a 230-metre tall and 361,000 m² tower – is one of Japan’s most advanced mixed-use developments. Purpose-built around IOWN, NTT’s light-based digital infrastructure, the building redefines what a headquarters can be, faster and radically more efficient. IOWN delivers up to 125× more data capacity, 200× lower latency, and 100× lower energy consumption than conventional networks, transforming the tower into a living platform for the future of urban life.

With IOWN, the 150,000m² of premium workplace is no longer bound by location, time, or infrastructure. It becomes a living system that connects people, intelligence, and space in real time. Collaboration is instantaneous and borderless, as AI and quantum computing power shared digital environments where teams solve complex challenges together across continents.

Workspaces behave like living ecosystems. Desks sense users’ biometrics, lighting and climate shift with cognitive rhythms, and robotic systems predictively reconfigure layouts as needed, adjusting furniture, services, and layouts to evolving activity.

An innovation hub, bringing together companies, researchers, and partners to co-create new solutions in urban development, ICT, and energy. The three-storey Cross Gate becomes a dynamic urban stage, where walls and ceilings shift into immersive digital canvases for global product launches, performances and everyday encounters. A 400-seat cultural hall hosts live events with uninterrupted views of Hibiya Park, virtually connecting to arenas and stadiums across Japan and beyond, enabling live sports, performances, and immersive viewing experiences in real time.
