Standing 50 storeys above the River Thames, Opus is the first residential building in London’s fossil fuel-free Bankside Yards masterplan. Through 249 luxury homes and an exceptional range of world-class amenities Opus reflects new attitudes to luxury urban living, supporting lifestyles that embrace wellness and sustainability.

Located on the South Bank, residents will live in the heart of London’s cultural mile, part of a neighbourhood that connects landmarks like Tate Modern and the Southbank Centre. Opus is a vital part of Bankside Yards’ hypermixed programme, which creates a new destination including luxury homes, landmark hotels, offices, retail, cultural facilities, affordable homes and 3.3ha of public space.

Net-zero in operation, Opus sets a new standard for environmentally conscious urban living with passive design, all-electric systems, and integration into a pioneering 5th generation energy-sharing network.

Opus will be the pinnacle of refined living in prime central London. With neighbours including the Tate Modern and the new five-star Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Opus is seamlessly integrated into the vibrant public realm of Bankside Yards. Life here is supported by an unprecedented range of amenities for residents, each that support an exceptional lifestyle combining wellness, recreation and inspiration.

On the ground floor, The River Rooms provide residents with an art studio, screening room, podcasting studio and music room. Also on this level, within the restored historic arches, is the wellness suite with sauna, hydrotherapy and current pool, gym, yoga and Pilates studio, a padel court and a bouldering wall. On the first floor is the resident’s entrance, with The Grand Foyer, 24-hour concierge, guest lounge, bar and café, porte cochère and access to the largest car vault in the UK, with 92 stacked spaces. Above this, The Garden Rooms provide a beautifully landscaped podium garden with two adjacent lounges with a self-service bar, meeting rooms and video conferencing rooms. On level 23, The Summit Club & Deck gives unrivalled views over London from the outdoor terrace, double-height lounge and private dining room.

Residents at Opus will live in the heart of London’s cultural centre. In Bankside Yards itself, eight unique public spaces with cultural spaces, shops, cafes and restaurants offer a vibrant round-the-clock urban life. The new neighbourhood also connects key cultural icons along the South Bank, opening up new routes between important institutions in the West, such as the National Theatre and Southbank Centre, with those in the East, including the Tate Modern, The Globe Theatre and Borough Market.

Connectivity is embedded into daily life for residents, with the Bankside Yards app enabling residents to curate their day; from finding co-working spaces and scheduling apartment maintenance, to booking a table at a restaurant or a gym class.

Opus will attract residents with an increased awareness of health, wellbeing and sustainability with a demand for qualities like amenity, energy efficiency, materiality and service, reflecting a shift in public sentiment that is today more aligned with macro issues like climate change, the cost of living, social value, and wellness.

Opus will be net-zero in operation and part of the UK’s first major mixed-use fossil fuel free development, utilising a 5th generation energy network. This system works by transferring energy across the multiple different uses of the site through low temperature heat networks. Even with just the first two buildings on site, the system will be able to drastically improve energy use by exchanging waste heat between Arbor’s offices and Opus’ homes. Opus is all-electric and any new energy required will be sourced from only renewable sources, utilising specific energy tariffs.

Passive design strategies work to both reduce energy loads and improve resident comfort. Optimised unitised façade units, which span from floor to ceiling and use low-iron glass, fill apartments with natural light whilst providing high levels of insulation.
