PLP Architecture Celebrates Topping Out of Opus at Bankside Yards

September 15, 2025

Opus, the first residential building in the Bankside Yards masterplan, has officially topped out. Designed by PLP Architecture for Native Land, and constructed by Multiplex, the 50-storey tower rises on London’s South Bank and marks a key milestone in the delivery of this all-electric, fossil-fuel free neighbourhood.

The PLP team joined partners and collaborators on site to celebrate the occasion, a moment that signals the arrival of a new kind of high-rise living in London. When complete, Opus will provide 249 new homes alongside extensive shared amenity spaces and access to a broader mix of culture, wellness and public life woven throughout the masterplan.

Standing 170 metres tall, Opus is the tallest residential building under construction in prime central London. Its design reflects PLP’s longstanding commitment to sustainability, wellbeing and urban integration. The building will operate with net-zero carbon emissions, supported by passive design strategies and next-generation energy infrastructure shared across Bankside Yards.

Opus is due to complete in 2027.
