Planning submitted for new 1 million sq. ft Whitechapel Healthcare and Research Campus addressing needs for NHS, housing, green space and community facilities

A major new integrated healthcare and research campus is planned for Whitechapel, designed to meet NHS needs, deliver affordable homes for key workers, and unlock new green spaces for the local community. The 1 million sq. ft scheme sits within the Barts Life Sciences Cluster and is projected to add £1bn annually to the UK’s Gross Value Added (GVA). It represents a £0.75bn investment into Whitechapel and is expected to create 1,325 new jobs – a significant boost at a time of minimal national economic growth.

PLP Architecture Unveils Rikaz Towers at Cityscape Global

PLP Architecture has revealed early designs for Rikaz Towers, a new coastal landmark for Al Khobar on Saudi Arabia’s eastern seaboard. The announcement was made during Cityscape Global, the region’s premier real estate event. Designed for client Rikaz, the project introduces a mixed-use development of homes, hospitality, workspaces, and leisure at the edge of the Arabian Gulf.

With panoramic views across the Arabian Gulf, Rikaz Towers introduces a new way of living on Saudi Arabia’s east coast – a community of homes, hotel and public amenities that anchor a vibrant new destination for the city. Located steps away from the Corniche waterfront, the 63,780m² development creates a lively streetscape of shaded arcades, retail, dining and drop-off plazas, rooted by two distinct towers that shape a new civic identity for the city’s eastern edge.

Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Al Maryah Island, is a man-made enclave between Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi Island and Mina Zayed. Its central position enables the island to become a link between the city and the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island. Central to this urban ligament stands the Four Seasons which, together with the adjacent Abu Dhabi stock exchange, establishes a pedestrian epicenter of metropolitan energy along the waterfront.
