‘Ephemeral’ has won the People’s Choice award in Eureka! at the London Design Biennale in Somerset House.

The installation, created by the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Natural Material Innovation and PLP Architecture, showcases amazing new ways that technology and natural materials can come together to create innovative solutions for our homes. Flexible timber wall partitions are the star of the show, demonstrating how these movable elements can allow your house to change as and when you need it to. Also on display are PLP Labs’ mycelium blocks, as well as a host of information about 3D-printed earthen blocks for external walls and other innovative uses for biomaterials.
