PLP Labs, the research and innovation arm of PLP Architecture, is working in collaboration with leading metaverse property platform VerseProp to launch a range of 5000 NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). Today, PLP Labs and Centric Lab launched a new research report for the British Council of Offices (BCO), Designing for Neurodiversity. The report examines the impacts that physical spaces have on their users, finding that certain spaces can be disabling because of their poor design and lack of consideration for the diverse needs of users. This is particularly true for neurodivergent individuals, whose conditions – while all experienced differently – are often negatively impacted by light and noise pollution and other sensorial sensitivities. This can cause individuals to experience high levels of stress due to heightened sensorial perceptions, inconsistent levels of comfort with learning and socialising, and difficulties regulating their moods.
PLP Architecture has broken ground on the Shanghai WLA Artificial Intelligence Lab part of a district for research and innovation developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Association for Science and Technology and the World Laureates Forum.
Ten of Japan’s largest companies have together unveiled their plan for a new district redevelopment in Tokyo, for which PLP Architecture are the master designer and placemaking strategist, as well as the architect for two of the four mixed-use towers on the 6.5-hectare site. The development sits in the prestigious and culturally significant Uchisaiwaicho 1-Chome district of Tokyo, which connects to the 16-hectare Hibiya Park and looks across to the Imperial Palace. The 1.1 million square metre development is the largest development in the metropolitan area of Tokyo.

Multiplex have released a new video giving insight into the making of landmark office building, 22 Bishopsgate, in the city of London. The short film includes the development of the scheme and interviews with Karen Cook, the principal architect on the project from PLP Architecture, as well as with other key individuals behind the project including Sir Stuart Lipton of Lipton Rogers Development.
We are delighted to announce the completion of One Bishopsgate Plaza, Europe’s first Pan Pacific London hotel. The project rejuvenates a key site along Bishopsgate into a dynamic mixed-use urban development organised around a large new public plaza. One Bishopsgate Plaza is the first high-rise residential and hospitality development built in the city in recent years and stands as a bold commitment to the continued vitality of the area. The new 43-storey development supports its future growth as a global centre for international business and leisure.
Arbor, our new office project in the bankside yards development on London’s South Bank has won two awards in the annual International Property Awards for Best Office Development and Best Commercial High Rise Development. We are working with Native Land on the development, with completion due in 2022.

Lee Polisano, in conversation with Accenture, discussed how the building is a place to work that promotes innovation and collaboration in an environmentally considerate way. He spoke of how our design takes an existing urban asset and transforms it into a landmark office building consisting of a series of shared spaces, both public and private to promote placemaking in the vibrant city of Milan. With the project in the heart of the city, Lee noted how craftsmanship is key and can be applied and incorporated in a resourceful way, that is both beautiful and respectful to the wider urban context.’

International team to revitalise industrial reclamation site into diverse green neighbourhood in Milan
PLP Architecture is part of an international team that includes OUTCOMIST, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, CRA – Carlo Ratti Associati and Arup that has won a major competition to realise Parco Romana, an urban-scale redevelopment project in Milan’s Porta Romana district. The project interprets the industrial legacy of the site while reanimating it with contemporary programs centred on an ethos of sustainability.
