This year’s BUILD Sustainable Design Awards have awarded PLP Architecture as London’s Best Sustainable Architectural Design Studio. The nomination is a recognition of PLP’s efforts to consistently push towards more sustainable solutions through their designs, strategies and research around the world.

Key buildings by PLP have gained popularity for their sustainability credentials including The Edge in Amsterdam, which achieved the world’s highest BREEAM rating; Arbor in London, which was chosen by sustainability consultants The Carbon Trust as their UK headquarters to help them achieve their own environmental goals; and Park Nova in Singapore, renowned for its integration of biophilia and nature. This is on top of the work of PLP Labs, which has been exploring new sustainable building materials including the possible uses of mycelium as a bio-material in construction.
