The Making of 22 Bishopsagate

Multiplex have released a new video giving insight into the making of landmark office building, 22 Bishopsgate, in the city of London. The short film includes the development of the scheme and interviews with Karen Cook, the principal architect on the project from PLP Architecture, as well as with other key individuals behind the project including Sir Stuart Lipton of Lipton Rogers Development.

PLP Architecture have completed One Bishopsgate Plaza

We are delighted to announce the completion of One Bishopsgate Plaza, Europe’s first Pan Pacific London hotel. The project rejuvenates a key site along Bishopsgate into a dynamic mixed-use urban development organised around a large new public plaza. One Bishopsgate Plaza is the first high-rise residential and hospitality development built in the city in recent years and stands as a bold commitment to the continued vitality of the area. The new 43-storey development supports its future growth as a global centre for international business and leisure.

Arbor has won two international property awards

Arbor, our new office project in the bankside yards development on London’s South Bank has won two awards in the annual International Property Awards for Best Office Development and Best Commercial High Rise Development. We are working with Native Land on the development, with completion due in 2022.

PLP President, Lee Polisano, spoke to Accenture about our work on Corso Como Place, a sensitive refurbishment of the existing Unilever Tower in Milan

Lee Polisano, in conversation with Accenture, discussed how the building is a place to work that promotes innovation and collaboration in an environmentally considerate way. He spoke of how our design takes an existing urban asset and transforms it into a landmark office building consisting of a series of shared spaces, both public and private to promote placemaking in the vibrant city of Milan. With the project in the heart of the city, Lee noted how craftsmanship is key and can be applied and incorporated in a resourceful way, that is both beautiful and respectful to the wider urban context.’

4 Cannon Street wins City of London Building of the Year: Contribution to Context Award

4 Cannon Street has been selected as recipient of the Contribution to Context Award, a special award created for this year’s City of London Building of the Year Awards to specifically honour the building. The recognition was given by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects and highlights the building’s sensitive design, which confidently respects place and context on its site between three listed buildings at the heart of the City.

Unfolding features in the London Design Biennale 2021

PLP Architecture has joined creative forces with the Centre for Natural Material Innovation at the University of Cambridge and Dukta to develop a sustainable geometric timber structure exhibited in this year’s London Design Biennale, which opened today at Somerset House in Central London.
